OSU celebrates 200 millionth download of Firefox browser
What do a Web browser and a crop circle have in common? Well, nothing really, but that didn't stop students at Oregon State University from creating a crop circle in the image of the Firefox browser logo.

Out of the woods: OSU dean ready to move past controversy
Armed with majority support and a series of recommended improvements, Hal Salwasser, dean of the College of Forestry at Oregon State University, is determined to put the past seven months behind him and use a public relations nightmare to correct longstanding problems within the college. "These are changes that probably should have been made a long time ago, but academia is so slow to change. We used a crisis to help make changes that will allow us to be an even better college — and we were pretty exceptional to begin with," Salwasser said. |

Portland-area alums to gather, celebrate baseball, win skybox tickets
OSU alumni and friends are invited to an evening of fun at Bridgeport Brewpub & Bakery, 1313 NW Marshall St., in Portland's Pearl District. The event, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, will include tours of the brewery, beer tasting, a short presentation on Portland's burgeoning microbrew industry, and video highlights of the Beavers' College World Series win. How are items chosen for Beaver Eclips?
Beaver Eclips is a free service of the OSU Alumni Association. Its main purpose is to provide alumni and friends of OSU with a sense of how Oregon State has been portrayed in the news media over the past week.
