Eat the turkeys! Beat the Ducks!
It's Thanksgiving/Civil War week, when we gather in peace and harmony (yes, even with our Duck relatives and friends) to celebrate our great blessings. Then, the next day, we forget all that and urge our guys to whup the fluorescent yellow feathers off that team from Eugene. Happy Thanksgiving from the OSU Alumni Association! Go Beavers! (See Civil War activities.)

Looking over the committees and subcommittees of the Oregon Legislature -- a pastime for either a calculating lobbyist or an unimaginably bored citizen -- you can survey education, health, justice and commerce, all the great concerns of the public servants of Oregon. With one exception. In both House and Senate, higher education is the kid who didn't show up for the yearbook photo, there but not really there.

This table saw comes equipped with new sensor technology that can tell when the blade comes in contact with soft human flesh. (Inventor Steve Gass, not mentioned in article, is a 1986 OSU physics grad. See background here.)

football The Civil War - Anything can happen when the Beavs play the Ducks
It's that time when it seems like everybody in the state of Oregon is either a Beaver or a Duck. "We don't like the Beavers. I don't like orange and black,'' Oregon running back Jeremiah Johnson said. "We're the Ducks. To knock them off, I would love it.'' The 110th Civil War between Oregon (7-4, 4-4) and Oregon State (7-4, 5-3) will be decided on Friday at Reser Stadium.

How are items chosen for Beaver Eclips?
Beaver Eclips is a free service of the OSU Alumni Association. Its main purpose is to provide alumni and friends of OSU with a sense of how Oregon State has been portrayed in the news media over the past week. Items are selected by the staff of the Oregon Stater and by other OSUAA employees. Inclusion of an item in Eclips means only that we think it's interesting and/or important, and does not constitute an endorsement of its point of view or its journalistic accuracy.
