'20s Jean Tuttle Gaily, '23, was recently featured by the Observer in La Grande, in a story about her life and 99th birthday on Christmas Day. She revealed that her real first name is Christmas, and told stories about her first "Teddy Bear," received in 1908 or 1909, and the first time she ever left Union County - a two day trip by train to Corvallis to begin her college career at OAC. '30s '40s Alvin Friedrich, '40, Canby, was recently honored as a Diamond Pioneer by the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences. Phyllis Otto Epperson, '41, writes from Riverside, Calif., that her husband, George Epperson, '46, is the coordinator of the Retired Activities Office at March Air Force Base. He was also a Theta Chi roommate of Grant W. Teats, who was featured on p. 22 of the December 2000 Oregon Stater. Kenneth Woodward, '42, a retired pharmacist and pilot in La Quinta, Calif., still flies for fun at the Bermuda Dunes Airport and works occasionally at a local pharmacy. Robert Stalley, '46, '48, and his wife, Dorothy, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Corvallis. He is a retired OSU mathematics professor. Bob Hawkins, '48, and his brother, Don Hawkins, '42, were featured in the Herald Oregon of Echo in a story about their enthusiasm for the Beavers and the Fiesta Bowl. Bob was an OSC rally squad leader and Don is the only Beaver to have captured the Pacific Conference Boxing Championship. '50s Almon Geiss, '50 has written a novel, What if, available from PublishAmerica, Inc. Glen Harvey, '50, and Mildred Winchester Harvey, '46, Corvallis, have been honored as Diamond Pioneers by the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences. John Evey, '51, retired from his Corvallis business, Stover, Evey and Jackson, is living in Bend near his daughters and has been on kidney dialysis for the past 20 years. N. Pat Williams, '52, Redmond, is lifeguard and supervisor at the Cascade Swim Center in Redmond where he teaches diving and is proud to be one of the oldest lifeguards in the country. Robert O. Adams, '54, is chairman of Samaritan Health Services, a merger of the Corvallis, Albany and Lebanon hospitals. He and his wife, Betty Schackman Adams, '54, owned and operated Adams Pharmacy and Kathy's Hallmark Shop in Lebanon. Donald Chittick, '57, '60, Newberg, conducts seminars on origins and earth history from a creationist perspective and researches ecological concerns and alternative fuels. '60s Jim Youde, '62, an economic consultant in Vancouver, Wash., was recently featured in the Columbian in an article about his trip to the recent Fiesta Bowl. Jenny Tesar, '64, is co-author of the recently published Penguin Desk Encyclopedia of Science and Mathematics. Dr. Lowell E. Euhus, '64, has scaled back his medical
