Ralph Brown, '73, was reelected for a fourth 2-year term as mayor of Cornelius. He retired from the Hillsboro School District in 1997.

Patrick J. O'Leary, '74, '80, is vice president and general manager of Biopool International in Ventura, Calif.

Karen J. Mason, '75, and her family are making plans for a memorial on campus for her daughter, freshman Kathryn May Zollner, who was killed by a drunk driver in Corvallis on Jan. 15, 2000. Kathryn's father, Glenn A. Zollner, '89, is also an OSU alumus. She studied agricultural economics like her grandfather, Don J. Mason, '43.

Oregon's Outstanding Biology Teacher of the Year for 2000.

Rhea Graham, '77, is a water resources manager with the environmental department of the Pueblo of Sandia in Bernallio, N.M. She is a member of the New Mexico's governor's administrative staff and is responsible for issues related to water rights and land use along the Middle Rio Grande corridor.
Alan Dietrichs, '78, is interim project manager with the Clatsop County Economic Development Council's Fisheries Project.

Gayle Vernon Seely, '78, is advertising director of the Seaside Signal on the Oregon Coast.

Robin Roberts, '79, is director of economic development for the Portland Development Commission. She was recently named a 2001 Fannie Mae Foundation Fellow, one of 10 community leaders from around the country chosen for the program for senior executives in state and local government at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Pete Capell, '80, is director of the Clark County public works department in Vancouver, Wash.

Coral Estes, '81, is a lieutenant at the Washington State Patrol in Olympia, Wash., and has been assigned to the technical services bureau as administrative assistant.

Meghan Canfield Arbogast, '83, '98, who recently placed third in the Long Beach Marathon, is listed as the 33rd fastest American woman marathon runner according to Runner's World. She is an EPA contractor and lives in Corvallis with her family.

Hal Pritchett Scholarship established

Associated General Contractors (AGC), Oregon-Columbia Chapter, has established a scholarship of interest to students entering the OSU Construction Management Education Program. The scholarship is named in honor of Hal Pritchett, '57, '61, who for 35 years has served on the OSU faculty and established the Construction Management Education Program, which he managed until his retirement last year.

The creation of the scholarship was announced at AGC's annual conference. Dale Campbell, AGC Foundation chairman, pointed out that more than 1,000 students have graduated from the OSU program under Pritchett's tutelage and now provide leadership for the construction industry in Oregon, Washington and elsewhere throughout the United States.
Campbell said, "Hal has no equal in his passion for the construction industry." Pritchett continues to serve OSU on a volunteer basis as development director for the OSU Construction Education Foundation.

The AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter Foundation provided initial funding for the national scholarship. The fund will be managed by the AGC of America Education Research Foundation.

Henley verse collection published

The family of Elizabeth Henley would like her former students and friends to be informed of a new collection of her verse, To Hear Unspoken Things, published by Press 22.
Elizabeth Henley taught literature at OSU from 1959 to 1975. She was a well-known Oregon poet, publishing in The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, McCalls, Ladies Home Journal and other publications.
