Dave Pahl, 62, Tigard, received the Career Achievement
Award for Distinguished Service from 1962 to 2000 from the Northwest
Food Producers Association. Pahl is a retired CEO of the organization.
Jennifer L. Dorn, 73, is administrator of the Federal Transit
Administration. She was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate on
July 12, 2001.
Janet Young, 74, formerly chief of staff at the Los Alamos National
Laboratory, has been appointed assistant chancellor and chief of staff
for the University of Californias campus in Merced.
Robert P. Dziak, 98, is a chief seismologist at the National Oceanographic
and Atmospheric Administrations Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory
in Newport and an assistant professor at OSU. He was one of 60 individuals
to win the nations highest award for young scientists, the Presidential
Early Career Award, for his studies of deep-ocean volcanic and thermal
activity.
Danell Blair, 99, 00, a Molalla High School science teacher,
received the Western Regional Outstanding Research Paper and Presentation
Award from the American Association of Agriculture Educators. Her research
paper was the first submitted from OSU by a masters degree student.
She will present the work at the AAAE National Conference in New Orleans
in December.
Delia Costley Jones, 00, Bend, received the National Outstanding
Non-Traditional Student award from the University Continuing Education
Association in honor of her academic achievements and volunteer community
activities.
